ACLU Files ‘Right to Read’ Lawsuit in Michigan

How Ridiculous?
 
 

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing a Michigan school district for allegedly violating state law when some of its students score below the required level on 4th or 7th grade reading tests. “The capacity to learn is deeply rooted in the ability to achieve literacy. A child who cannot read will be disenfranchised in our society and economy for a lifetime,” says the ACLU in its complaint.
