The fact that Terry Hendrix is incarcerated in a Colorado correctional facility apparently hasn’t dampened his enthusiasm for the Dallas Cowboys. It also hasn’t prevented him from filing an $88 billion lawsuit against National Football League officials for an overturned call in the Cowboy’s recent playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers.

That’s right — he’s seeking $88,987,654,321.88 from the NFL over a play in which Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant made a seemingly spectacular one-handed catch that was ruled an incompletion after further review by the officials.

Hendrix felt the Cowboys and its fans were cheated, and so he has named NFL Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino, referee Gene Steratore and Commissioner Roger Goodell in his lawsuit, which alleges “negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and also reckless disregard.”

WFAA-TV surmises that Hendrix arrived at the “$88 billion” number because of Dez Bryant’s jersey number — 88 — and that Hendrix believes that the Cowboys would have advanced to the NFC Championship if the Bryant catch had not been overruled.

What do you think — does Hendrix have a legitimate case, or is this simply a ridiculous “Hail Mary” in an attempt to score a big payday?
