  • What about Lomas Brown being a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the NFL regarding player safety and then admitting that he intentionally let his own QB get injured by not doing his job, which was protecting the QB.

  • 1.stall tactic.,2.it was her gas,judgement…20.00$ us,.3,spectator assumes risk,.4,order a study of inmate medical services,,remand plaintiff to custody, suit dismissed, corrections not responsible for inmates health conditions before hand..,5,dismiss case, not liability on product maker,6….nfl,guilty,..common use areas,7.dismissed,no fault of defendant, order plaintiff to pay cost and defendants attorney fees
8.popcorn product unsafe as it was packaged and of other than normal product harm, liable …9.possible to pacemakers,or other med devices, investigate ,and correct, win a million,10.parents wake up..suit dropped and plaintiff pay cost…..>this is how i would have found as judge….!

  • Our courts are wasting time with this nonsense, when they should be focusing on legitimate matters. Some of these were so stupid and laughable, especially number 10.

  • This just goes on to prove without a shadow of a doubt that our Legal Justice System is drastically flawed…sad that someone can rape the legal system and rob innocent victims.

  • No wonder your country is so out of the world of reality and living in a different sphere. Try to get real, this is totally stupid…….and then again funny and gives you a reason to become an american citizen…Oh Boy !…..Use your imagination creatively and you can become a wealthy man in no time!

  • So my questions are: Are these lawsuits filed and threw out? If these lawsuits are being won, shouldn’t we believe they have merit? Shouldn’t the people who are harmedby negligent companies be able to ask for accountability?

  • 1. Day late, dollar short. 4. Bet those five teeth are worth a fortune. 8. Never visit Colorado. Personal memo. Could get arrested and convicted for stupid by stupid. 9. They cause great stress in trying to figure out what they mean within which hours. 10. Suit legit. Should have caught him earlier and returned him to his parents dumb gene pool.

  • you missed one. This should be the top of the list

A $100 million claim is filed on behalf of a 6-year-old survivor of the Sandy Hook School massacre, saying the state Board of Education, Department of Education and Education Commissioner failed to take appropriate steps to protect children from “foreseeable harm.” http://yhoo.it/12MvTNO

  • These are good, but anyone can file a suit for anything. You really need to emphasize which ones result in a verdict and which ones get thrown out. Some readers might think that a judge has deemed these silly claims meritorious.

  • I work for a lawyer. We turned away someone who tried to hire us to file a lawsuit because his birthday was 10/4 and the FCC and truckers use “10-4” as a code for “understood.” He claimed it was a copyright on his birth date. Another person wanted to sue the park – she was doing cartwheels and a foot went into a ground squirrel holes, breaking her ankle. She thought the city should keep the hundreds of holes filled up and the ground squirrels under control.

  • It is not the best system, but it better than most. Problem with the system is the morality of the people that use it. Take God and morals out of any system, this is what you get. Time to make up your mind which direction we as a nation need to go and take action. One person can make a difference and enough want to take action…well maybe we can change for the better.

  • Number 1 is what you get when you have pure comparative jurisdictions. 90% drunk driver collects 10% from the estate.

Popcorn man-30 years laying carpet vs eating microwave popcorn…duh. Likely appealed.

5 & 6 are in TX and won’t go anywhere. Too conservative.

3 of the more ridiculous are in CA…enough said.

  • It’s a sad sad world in which we live. I can’t see where these people stood a chance. There needs to be laws against people suing for crap like this. Ugh!!

  • this is what has to be fixed in this country. a drunk kills a man then sues the dead man. come on a waist of freakin time

  • Ridiculous lawsuits? Yep, they all appear to be. But bear in mind that anyone can sue anyone else for just about anything. The test is whether the court kicks it out as frivolous and orders the plaintiff to pay the costs of all parties. . .

  • Do we know what the outcomes of the lawsuits are? It wouldn’t surprise me if any of these were honored because we’ve become so litigious and judges are granting lawsuits for the most ridiculous things.

  • I have a feeling this list is an intentional attempt to mislead. You don’t provide any links or case names/citations, so we have no way to judge for ourselves. We just have to accept that the case is what you claim it is.

In particular, I know your presentation of the popcorn lung case is disingenuous, because it’s previously been established that the chemicals in microwave popcorn cause respiratory problems among the factory workers who handle it. It’s not surprising that it would harm consumers who eat a lot of it, and companies should be held responsible for the harm their products cause to consumers if the consumers have no reasonable way of knowing the product will cause that harm. If he sued because it made him fat, that would be lawsuit abuse. But this was a health problem he had no way to anticipate.

So based on the lack of information you’ve provided, I suspect a lot of these cases are quite reasonable.

  • How is it that these idiots get away with these lawsuits? How did our laws get so screwed up to even allow these wasteful excuses for humans to entertain the idea of sueing ? There are so many honest legitimate lawsuits that don’t have a chance at helping people but yet lawyers are raking in millions on the crap like what’s listed above? Where is the justice in all this?

  • The lawyers who are representing these “fool” clients should have to pay the legal fees for both sides and a charge for taking up valuable court time !

  • no wonder everthing is so highly priced, people sue over stupid thinking they r going to make a quick buck.instead of working for it. i just wish i could go back to work.

  • My cousin sued me because? She has multiple lands registered at the registry of deeds. She was loan officer for a bank and signed her own loans and did her own underwriting. Land, Loan, Land Mortgage> $750,000.00. So I contacted the FDIC and attorney out of my public concern? She illegally obtained my mothers interest buy financing my fathers divorce and they did not tell me or my mother. So I commercial liened her. The superior court has no jurisdiction via Supreme Court Affirmed Case. They still wrote an order. Now my cousin on one e-mail no doctors notes, trauma or anything else is suing for Malicious Intent, Slander, Libel, Intentional Infliction Of Emotional Distress? I put in 15 motions to dismiss 15 months nothing. 2 judges recuse themselves. One do to Conflict of Interest. But it is not ok for me to ask for my cousins expert witness on Summary Judgment from the same firm as my brothers, and that firm tried to help cover up the will on paper? Judge says Fraud Upon The Court, Conflict, Breach Of Fiduciary Duty and Unclean Hands is not enough to drop a case? So it is ok for my cousins lawyer to tamper in Probate for my cousin’s benefit but it is not ok for me to attach liens by due process, given by the Constitution Pains and Penalties and Just Compensation backed up by the 10th Amendment?

  • Why are the valid lawsuits not discussed and only the so-called frivolous lawsuits are published. That’s a rhetorical question because it’s clear that big business, insurance groups and other public interest groups are fueling this nonsense.

It isnt until a falily member gets injured that the person who alwaysI is yelling for tort reform that they realize this false ideology is actually hurting individuals. Not very Christian like if you ask me.
