Something smells rotten in New York…and it’s another ridiculous lawsuit. A man is suing Starkist Tuna over the American Heart Association’s Heart Checkmark logo the company displays on its cans. The lawsuit claims the logo misleads customers into thinking Starkist Tuna is healthier than other brands.
But a brand can display the AHA’s Heart Checkmark logo if it meets all AHA and government dietary guidelines, and any food manufacturer is eligible.
This case is really about trial lawyers fishing for a big payday. Let’s hope the court throws this ridiculous lawsuit back into the water.
